Super Fine's technology has a number of significant advantages in comparison to other milling methods currently on the market:

1. Advantage with "Soft" Materials 

One of the most outstanding advantages of the Vortex mill is that it can replace cryogenic milling with room-temperature milling or, in some cases, milling with air-cooling but only to a certain extent.

2. Powder Quality 

In numerous cases were we able to solve milling problems relating to the quality powder aspect.  The Super Fine Vortex mill also offers a solution to the problem of powder quality; we can reassure customers from the electronics and the pharmaceutical industries that the material we mill is with high quality. 

3. Milling in a Single Stage

Super Fine’s SINGLE stage process means that there is no need to conduct an additional classification process. ALL the milled material falls into a narrow size distribution so that when we say that the d50 = X, we mean that ALL the milled material has a d50 of X.  This is in contrast to many milling methods, which require that a selection and classification process be conducted after the milling process in order to obtain the desired d50. 

4. Economic

Due to the facts that we are using less energy, all the materials comes out in the same size, no need for addition classification stage and in those cases in which we can replace cryogenic process –

In many cases we can get a better quality powder with a process that costs much less!


In the last three years the company has conducted thousands of milling experiments with hundreds of different materials. As a result of these experiments, we define the possible uses for applying our technology with various materials and industries as follows: 

Hard and super-hard materials:

Milling to a size of d50=2-4mm

Examples of materials: Zirconium, Boron-Carbide, Silicon-Carbide, Tungsten-Carbide, Boron Nitride, a-Alumina (Corundum), Silicon Nitride.

Pharmaceutical Industry:

Particle size is aimed according to customer’s requirements.

We have been very successful with this group of materials and met the customers’ requirements.

Rare Earths:

Milling to a size of d50=0.9mm

Examples: Yttrium Oxide, Neodymium Oxide, Dysprosium Oxide, Erbium Oxide.


Milling to a size of d50=0.3mm or according to the customer’s requirement.

Examples: Deferent kinds of Organic and non-organic pigments.

Food Additives:

Particle size is aimed at according to customer’s requirements.

Examples: Vitamins, Three Calcium Citrate, Mono, Sodium Citrate, Soya, tomatoes.

Chemicals and Minerals:

In various types of materials, the milling results were exactly at according to the customer’s different requirements.  In many of the cases we were the solution for the customers who had experiences difficulties and failure with other pulverizing systems.
